Hi I am Lucia Zelesco –  founder of Empowering Women’s Events. For more than a decade now, I have worked closely with and inspired business owners to actualise their vision. Being a business woman myself,  I understand the challenges and hardships faced by female entrepreneurs in today’s disruptive world quite well. This is why I – along with my team – have come up with a first of its kind Empowering Women’s Events (EWE) to support Australian women in business today, who face a plethora of barriers to compete in a world where men occupy most decision-making positions in all critical domains.

According to the Wade Institute’s Women and Entrepreneurship Report (2019), in Australia 34% of companies are run by women compared to 66% by men. Moreover, In the last 20 years, the number of female led businesses has just increased by 3% and only 4 out of 10 venture capital firms have women as partners. Many women leading small and medium sized businesses reach stumbling blocks and are often left to deal with business related issues alone.

EWE can be the perfect platform to overcome such barriers and for women to show how their contributions make a difference to their communities, local and national economies, and organisations around them. Imparting confidence and on-the-ground operating channels at an affordable cost – is what must be done. We are looking to create a one-day masterclass including experts from marketing, accounting, financial services, and business operations backgrounds. The aim is to provide awareness about effective efficient business development and management tools that female entrepreneurs can use. There will also be an affordable MBA online university and a mentorship program to ensure the success of the females businesses.

We are seeking support to raise $3,000 (AUD). This funding will enable us to launch our online and in person programs to women across Australia before the end of 2021. We are passionate about providing support to those that need it most, as quickly as possible.

We are looking for funding for:
+ building our LMS online learning centre

+market expansion through – marketing and operations

+conducting our live events

When a woman is empowered, she not only empowers herself, but she also empowers her family, her community, and her society: doubling the reach and impact by manifolds.
